1️⃣ Full Checkpoint Coverage - Reversed!

Last week, we proudly introduced Full Checkpoint Coverage - a huge leap forward that would have brought unprecedented creative freedom by supporting over 25,000 checkpoint versions on the Civitai generator! We were excited to give you more choice and flexibility than ever before.

However, despite meticulous planning and countless hours of development and testing, our current hardware simply couldn’t keep up with the load, and we experienced challenges with generator stability and image quality that fell short of the standards we expect for the platform.

As a result, we made the difficult decision to roll back the Full Checkpoint Coverage release, and a number of associated changes which released alongside it.

We understand that this news might be disappointing, but please know that the dream of Full Checkpoint Coverage is not dead. We’re still working to upgrade our hardware and refine our systems. Every setback is a stepping stone, and we’re committed to pushing forward until we can safely and reliably support the full spectrum of checkpoints!

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue to optimize and evolve Civitai.

2️⃣ Checkpoint Auctions: Redux!

With the rollback of Full Checkpoint Coverage, we’ve had to rethink how to offer broad access to checkpoints in a way that’s sustainable with our current hardware.

We’ve re-launched the Auction system with a new goal: letting the community choose which 200 checkpoints receive generation support each week. Think of it as a weekly rotation - driven by community vote.

This new version of the Auction System is streamlined - no discounts or surcharges - just direct community input deciding which models get the spotlight!

4️⃣ Welcome Kftiger (Cale) to the Civitai Team!

We’re thrilled to share that Cale - known to many of you in the community as Kftiger - is officially joining the Civitai team as our new Social Media Manager!

Cale is stepping in as Tyler moves on to pursue some exciting personal projects (😭 we’ll miss you, Tyler! Wishing you all the best on your next adventure!).

If you’ve chatted with Cale in the comments or seen his energy around the site, you already know what a great fit he is. He brings a ton of creativity, enthusiasm, and genuine love for the community - and we’re absolutely stoked to have him onboard.
